To maintain a professional staff of the Clerk’s office that is attentive to the neutrality and impartiality while rendering equal and efficient service to all. YOUR VILLAGE CLERK’S OFFICE:
Attends and records all meetings of the Village Council. Provides research and support to the Council and acts as a key liaison between local government and its citizens. Responsible for all municipal legislative processes. This includes Ordinances and Resolutions, contracts, agreements, agenda preparation, official minutes of the Council and legal advertising. Photocopies are available, by request, to the general public and village employees. All activities surrounding municipal and special elections, and referenda are also the responsibility of this office.
The Village Clerk is the liaison to Village Lodgers Tax Committee and overseas and administers contracts funded by the Lodgers Tax revenues. Tracks and monitors monthly revenues received from local lodging establishments. Ensures that uses of the tax revenues comply with Village laws and policies. Prepares and monitors Lodger's Tax budget.
Oversees the issuance and renewal of business registrations, business licenses, other permits and liquor licenses.
